Migraine
Anyone that has experienced a migraine before will know that it is terrible, whether you are hard at work or you are sitting doing nothing at home, the migraine can still occur. When you are trying to concentrate at work you will fell it thumping your head and it might feel like someone is hitting you over the head with a hammer. The same thing when you are at home doing nothing; you are doing nothing so all you can think about is this excruciating pain in your head. The first thing people normally try and do when they have a migraine is lie down and sleep, but this is not always possible. Sometimes the migraine can be so severe that it causes sleeping difficulties. Normally everyone experiences a migraine at least once in their lives, but there are some unfortunate people individuals who suffer from them frequently. The severity of a migraine differs from person to person, but the average migraine can last anything from 4 to 72 hours. Some people will get migraines once a week, others once a month and some only once or twice a year. Consider yourself very lucky if you only experience them yearly, a migraine is not something you want to experience frequently! Migraines may differ from each other; it normally depends on the person. Many people that experience migraines do so without auras, which were before known as common migraines. Other people might experience the migraine with auras; these were before known as the classic migraines. If your migraines fall under that of the classic group, you will probably experience the aura approximately half an hour before the migraine starts. When you are experiencing an aura, it is possible for you to: * Feel unexpected pins and needles in your body * See what looks like zigzag lines, that no one else around you can see * See weird, unexplained dazzling lights * Experience tingling sensations in your body So basically when you are experiencing and aura your vision will be impaired by unexplained sights. This might not always happen but it is the most common in migraine headaches. Auras do not always accompany migraines, but very often they do. Anyone can experience a migraine; it is even quite common in children. Sometimes ordinary headache pills can be taken to calm a migraine but it is not likely that it will eliminate the pain altogether.
